Aromatic Aster (AS-ter: ob-LON-ji-foe-lee-us) Another very attractive North American species that blooms late summer and fall. Large showy flowers on plants that grow 2 to 3 feet tall. The flowers have small bright yellow centers and soft purplish to pinkish mauve colored rays. This species is tolerant of poor dry soils and around here grows in open woods too. Good cut flowers with scented foliage, good for attracting any late season butterflies too. Zones 3-8 Native to central USA into Canada and Mexico. 100 seeds | |
