Plants grow 2 to 3 feet (3 ft = 91.4 cm) tall with 2 to 3 inch (3 in = 7.62 cm) wide yellow flowers that open in the evening as the sun sets and finish blooming in the morning. Needs sandy soils, in organic soils the roots tend to rot. Grow in full sun, use along roadsides and along beaches on dry sandy soils. Biennial.
