"Yellow Scabiose" (kef-a-LAH-ree-a: al-PEEN-a) Dipsacaceae:
The genus name is from the greek word kephale, meaning "a head" These clump forming plants have long wiry stems that can be 3 to 6 feet tall. The clumps have a spread up to 2 feet and fit in well mixed with shrubs and ornimental grasses. Plants start to bloom in late spring with Scabiosa like yellow flowers.
Zones 4-8. Use cool temps, some were around 41 to 55ºF, germination irregular, often taken place over a month or two.
