| "Canadian Anemone" or "Meadow anemone" RANUNCULACEAE. Spreading invasive!? Plants with light green leaves with toothed leaflets. Early to mid summer blooming with butter cup shaped white flowers 2 inches across held above the foliage. Plants love moist even some what wet soil, tolerating periods of flooding. This native North American Anemone grows into large groups by spreading underground stems. Plant along the lake shore or in a semi shady part of the garden or in that low wet spot you can't seem to get any thing else to grow. 12 -15 inches tall. Makes a nice ground cover along trails and shorelines with a good number of white flowers and attractive foliage. Easy to grow as long as the soil does not bake in hot sun. Native from Labrador to Colorado. Bare root or pots. | |
