	[Achillea serbica] 'Greek Yarrow' or 'Balkan Yarrow' (ach-KIL-lee-uh: a-jur-RAT-ih-foh-lee-uh) Low growing humps of deeply cut foliage and many relatively large white flowers. The flowers have yellow centers. Plants grow 4 to 6 inches tall and bloom from late spring to mid summer. Good for a rock garden with good drainage, were plants are interesting while in flower and while not flowering, with there tidy habit of evergreen leaves. Zones 3-8 Native from higher elevations in South Eastern Europe. 	This Yarrow from the Balkans has golden - yellow flowers, but the foliage is what I think stands out. The leaves are pinnatafid like a fern, they are long and have a Silver white color, one might even say they have a 'frosted' look to them. Plants form thick clumps growing 6-10 inches (10 in = 25.4 cm) tall with flowering heads reaching 18-24 inches (4 in = 10.2 cm) tall. Like most Yarrows, plant in full sun in well draining soils. 	'Musk Milfoil' Here is a yarrow with aromatic foliage, it has finely cut low growing leaves and white flowers on top of 5 to 7 inch tall plants. A rock garden subject for the scree bed, not easy to grow because it does best on nitrogen poor soils but if given a moisture retentive soil in full sun, its worth the space. Short lived on rich soils. Zones 5-8. Native from the central Alps. 100 seeds.

	(ah-KILL-lee-ah fil-ih-pend-yew-LEE-nah) Large sized, bright yellow colored flower heads are 4 to 5 inches wide, on top of 4 foot tall stems. Great for use as cut and dried flowers. Easy to grow. Foliage is attractive with a silver whitish cast to it and scented. showy and nice planted up along a fence or mixed with tall grasses. Zones (3)4-8. Sow seeds on the surface and use 70 F, germination in 7-15 days. Plant in well draining sandy loam soils in full sun to light shade. To promote all season long flowering, one should dead head after the main flowering flush - This will produce smaller flower heads but blooming all the way till frost. 	(a-KILL- ee-ah: tar-mi-KA) Higher percentage of double, fully ball shaped white flowers. The flowers cover two foot tall clumps. Produces more consistently fully double flowers than older strains. Nice cut flower. Plants are spreading by way of underground stems (rhizomes) and can take up a good sized area in a few years. The foliage is different from other Achillea (the millefolium types) commonly grown, the leaves are linear instead of dissected, and the margins are toothed. Plants grow 24-30 inches tall and form nice thick clumps with many bright white flowers. Grow in full sun to light shade, plants do well even in sandy soils. Avoid heavy moist, or nitrogen rich soils; otherwise plants might need staking to stay upright. Zones 2-10. Germination in less than 2 weeks at 68F.
