Ajuga
Ajuga is a small genus of dwarf plants flowering in spring and early summer. They have blue flowers. They are natives of mountain or lowland pastures and they are easily cultivated in gardens. The species readily increased by division, and they spread to form large mats. A. genevensis is distinguished from A. reptans by the absence of creeping shoots. The flower stems arc erect from 6 in to 9 inches tall, the flowers are deep blue and arranged in dense whorls along fully half the of the spike-like stem. They are suitable for the front of mixed borders or for the margin of shrubberies and also for naturalizing.
A. reptans flowers in early summer. The flowers are blue and there are white varieties too. A. alpine flowers well in shady places, blooming on and off all the summer.
