This is a smaller species growing about 6' tall with smaller leaves. Plants grow in clumps about 8' wide. Leaves are rounded and have 7-9 shallow lobes that have sharp teeth and are hairy. Leaves have a bluish-green color and have yellowish green flowers. This plant blooms from late spring through late summer. Plants are useful for the rock garden or along a stone path providing a softer look to those plants that are bold and overly showy. Develops a reddish color in the fall. A good border plant and useful for a ground cover in shady positions. Plants grow to about 18 inches tall when in full flower. When not in bloom the clumps are 6 to 9 inches tall. Zones 4-9.
