	These true Asters grow 12 inches tall when in full bloom. The flowers are good sized and come in a mix of colors. This is a formula blend of colors that bloom at the same time and about the same height. The plants make a nice mass bedding effect on a rock wall or in the border, planted in groups of five of more plants each spaced about 10 inches apart. Different blue and pink shades plus white. Will bloom the second year. Grow in full sun in soils that drain well, drought tolerant and long lived once established. Seedlings have a moderate growth rate and can be transplanted out after 5 weeks of growth. Zones 4-8 Surface sow the seeds, light helps with germination,. 	'Alpine Aster' This selection grows 10 inches tall and has dark purple-violet flowers. Plants are clump forming and slowly form spreading mats that reach a width of 18 inches. Nice addition to the front of the border or rock garden, I find the Alpine Asters useful for their early flowering. Most of the plants with daisy-like flowers bloom later in the year. Blooms late spring-early summer. Zones 4-7. Surface sow seeds and keep moist but not overly wet, use F 70, germination is spread out over a number of weeks. 50 seeds.
