    Centratherum intermedium 'Pineapple Sangria' has lavender-blue heads of flowers that are shaped like fluffy buttons. Plants grow about 15 inches tall. The foliage when crusted releases a pineapple scent. Long flowering and starts to bloom in a month or two of sowing. Brazilian Button Flower is used as a ground cover or as mass planting. It can be used in a rock garden also. A good choice for bedding and containers. This species prefers well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. It is drought tolerant but killed by hard frosts. May self seed. The plants are covered with hundreds of flowers that are produced until late fall. A real winner the garden because of its numerous blue flowers and long blooming period. Starts to flower three-months from sowing. Were not hardy it makes a very suitable annual. Start in late winter and early spring for flowers all summer into fall.
