Here is an All America Selection Winner. Plants have flowers that are 3 inches wide, in a brilliant orange-red color resembling single dahlias. Nice cut flower, with plants growing 5 to 6 feet tall, taller in part shade. Plants are butterfly and hummingbird magnets with up to 40 flowers at one time. Does not need staking but some times under windy conditions when the soil is damp - some protection from blowing over might be needed.
Half Hardy Annuals that attracts butterflies. The species is native to Mexico. Cover seeds and use 65-75 F. Germination will occur in 1 to 2 weeks. Little care required.
