The flowers hang down over attractive foliage and the stems can have darker tinting. Some what variable, plants will bloom the secound year. This species is a very early bloomer and blooms for many weeks. A winner for the rock garden or front of the wild flower garden, part shade to full sun - were soils are moister retentive. Once established plants do well even in a dry shady position.
