A perennial with fleshy roots, and whitish flowers that are borne terminally in
relatively flat-topped, branched clusters. The thick, elliptical,
alternate leaves are smooth-margined and long-stalked toward the stem base, with conspicuous
longitudinal nerves that converge at the leaf tip. Grow in full sun to part shade in moist organic soils that drain well.
