This species of Fritillaria has charming flowers that are larger and more bell-shaped than F. meleagris. The flowers are cream-yellow colored with pale green veining. The foliage is a gray-green color. Plants grow 7 to 16 inches tall and may bloom some the first year; mature plants have 6 or more flowers per stem. Flowers late spring.

Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours; change the water after 12 hours. Sow and very thinly cover seeds with soil medium and keep at room temp for one week, move the below 38F with germination starting in 8 to 12 weeks. Cold germinator. Keep seed trays for 2 years.
