Lavandula angustifolia 'Munstead Strain'
Plants grow 16 - 24 inches tall, with Sweet scented - dark blue-purple (Lavender) colored flowers. Lavender-blue flowers are produced from June through August, above lacy, gray-green scented foliage. Use as a cut flower or even dried. Long blooming period from late spring throughout summer. Plant in full sun in nitrogen poor soils that are well draining. In the north plants will not over winter well in moist soils, so overwinter dry. This strain blooms earlier than other lavender strains.
Freeze seed for seven days before surface sowing [light needed for best results], then move to 60 F, germination from 20- 30 days.
