From Asia comes this relative of our North American native 'Culver's Root.' This species grows a little over five feet tall and has attractive whorled leaves that develop at the nodes around the stems. The blue-lilac colored flowers are produced in spike-like clusters at the tops of the stems. Looking like a giant Veronica. An interesting addition to the prairie planting or back of the border. Very showy when planted in groups. Grow in deep soils in full sun to light shade, best in moisture retentive soils.
