Tradescantia ohiensis is a clump-forming spiderwort species. It is a herbaceous perennial growing up to three feet tall. Plants have dark bluish-green colored, arching, grass-like leaves. Plants bloom in late spring and early summer with clusters of blue or sometimes rose colored, three-petaled flowers. Can self-seed in ideal growing conditions. An attractive plant to naturalize around forest edges, meadows and roadsides.
