	'Silver Alyssum' BRASSICACEAE: Great plants that grow 10 to 12 inches tall and form a thick bushy 24 inch a wide mound of silver gray foliage that is covered with soft yellow flowers in mid to late spring. The plants have flowers here and there until late summer. Use in dryer areas like sandy and rocky soils. I like this plant used as a carpet over a large area, nice sight to behold looking like soft yellow clouds over the ground. For me in Minnesota, the plants are what I would call semi-evergreen, with silver green wiry stems that more or less keep there leaves on through winter. In the spring plants produce a robust growth of new foliage and then flower. Trim plants back in the fall or early spring to make thicker growth. Like most plants in the mustard family this species likes well drained soils and is drought tolerant. Full sun to light morning shade. Thriving even in sandy soils. Zones 4-7. Sow seed and cover lightly, light helps for best germination, 3 weeks. 70F. do not over water. 100 seeds.

	Plants bloom from around May 1 to June 1 and are covered in gold-yellow flowers. Trailing stems grow 12 inches long, giving good sized clouds of bright yellow flowers. Plants are 8 to 12 inches tall and do best in full sun with very well draining soils, and should be cut in half after flowering in late spring and early summer. 'Gold Ball' is different from the other selections because it flowers earlier than the species and forms an 8 inch tall rounded shape. Surface sow and grow out under cool temps.
