This plant has a nice dark color for the garden to offset white Hosta. Plants can grow up to 2.5 feet wide. Open shade to sun. Likes a rich, moisture retentive soil. This is an annual to biennial to short lived perennial and were happy will self sow. The green form is a weed in the pacific states. In the spring the foliage starts out a dark green and by mid summer it has developed its rich dark color.
