	'Blackberry lily' or 'Leapard flower' Bright yellowish orange flowers with darker orange-red freckles, a stand out. Great cut flower, blooming from June into August. Plants produce clumps with few to many fans of leaves and branched flowering stems with cup-shaped flowers, at flowering plants grow 24-30 inches tall. Attractive seed in late summer with pods of black berries. This Iris relative does best in well drained soils that are low in nitrogen. Zones (4)5-9. The species is native from Asia and Japan. Lightly cover seeds and keep moist, germination is spread out over 3 months. Easy from seed, plants will bloom the second or third year. Divide clumps every few years. Plants are also grown as an indicator species for the presence of Iris bores. 10 seeds.
