'Dwarf Morning Glory' (kon-VUL-vew-us: TRII-co-lor) CONVOLVULACEAE

Plants grow 12-15 inches tall and have rich purple-blue flowers with yellow and white star shaped centers. Many flowers produced all summer are 2 inches wide and open all day. A neat, bushy compact growing Morning Glory for beds and borders, flowering from July until late September. The plants are covered with brilliant blue funnel-shaped flowers with vivid contrasting yellow and white centers. Annuals that start to flower 12 weeks after sowing. Cover seeds and use 65-75F, germination in 14 days.

'Spanish Flag' (MEE-na: LO-bah-ta) CONVOLVULACEAE.

Orange to scarlet colored flowers with yellow tips, the flowers, as they age, fade to yellow shades. Plants grow 3 to 8 feet tall and make nice pot or basket plants. Nice compact vines to grow on a stick. Showy and easy to grow.

Grown as an annual, but a perennial were the temps do not drop below 50F As a perennial they can grow up to 15 feet tall. Start the seeds in early spring and plants will flower from mid summer into fall, in the zones 9-10 they will bloom until the night air drops below 50F, and further south they will bloom all year. This species is native from Mexico down to South America. Soak seeds in hot water for 2 days, change the water every 12 hours with fresh hot water.
