ESCHSCHOLZIA California Poppy
Brilliant annuals or perennials loved for their showy flower displays when grown in dense stands scattered around the landscape and roadways. The beautiful new forms including rich reddish orange and the unique doubles are a real value, making attractive plantings. They should be sown in August and September for early summer bloom They may be sown even later and should then be allowed to bloom where they are sown. Summer/early fall sowings produce plants with deeper and more developed root systems that produce plants that flower much longer than if sown in spring. They are hardy and snails and slugs do not bother them. There are a number of species well worth growing including: Eschscholzia caespitosa—Tufted Poppy, Foothill Poppy, Collarless California Poppy. Eschscholzia californica—California Poppy. Eschscholzia elegans. Eschscholzia glyptosperma. Eschscholzia hypecoides
