'Rock Broom' Fabaceae:

Plants grow about a foot high, and clumps of branches with out leaves, bearing yellow pea-like flowers in racemes during May and June. This species is different that other brooms, it is deciduous with prostrate stems, growing as a shrub with crowded, evergreen branches. Grow on a rock ledge so the hanging stems of showy bright yellow flowers and winged stems are shown off to their best effect.

Zones 4-8

Native from Europe were it is found growing in alpine meadows.
