	A wide ranging mix and a good way to start a collection of plants with showy flowers and a number with attractive foliage too. Includes many rarely offered selections. Most Geranium species produce few seeds and they are a challenge to collect, so they are rarely sold as seed, though there are many species that are attractive garden plants and should be offered - so they end up in this mix. We have increased the number of seeds per packet so that a good range of species and hybrids can be obtained. Some are not hardy in zones 4, and a few are not hardy in zone 5. Most seeds are large and easy to germinate and the plants are easy to take care. Thinly cover seeds and use 70-75F days and 50-55F nights, Seal in a plastic bag to keep humidity up, Germination in 5-60 days. Might be helpful to soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours first. Grow seedling out on the cool side, 60F is good. 35 seeds.

	A short lived perennial that self seeds easily enough to establish a nice presence in the garden under the right conditions. Plants grow from 12 to 128 inches tall when in flower and have blue flowers with some purple-violet veining. Use in a sunny location that is well drained but moisture retentive. Plants bloom from mid spring to mid summer and will flower the first year from an early sowing - grow out cool for best results - so a mid winter sowing works very well. Zones 3-8. 	'Dusky Cranes Bill' or 'Morning Widow' Plants with dark purple almost black flowers with protruding 'beaks' from 1/2 inch wide cup shaped flowers. Plants form a slowly spreading, dense clump with a long bloom period from mid spring to mid summer. The clumps look very attractive in early spring as new leaves grow. Leaves are semi-evergreen, persisting throughout the winter in tight cluster on the soil surface. This selection has some very dark flowers in it. Plants grow 24-30 inches tall. Plant in mostly sunny areas with some light shade. After blooming is done- cut off the old flowering stalks to tidy up and prevent some self seeding. Plants bloom from the bottom of the stems upwards and while the top flowers are blooming some of the lower ones are casting there seeds about. The flowers have small catapult like cups that when dried spring out and fling the seeds a few feet in each direction. Clumps can be divided up in early spring or mid summer. Grow in open shade to part shade in moisture retentive soils that are well draining. Does well in our clay soils in our open woodland garden. Zones 4-8. Native from Europe and Western Russia. Lightly cover seeds with soil and use F55, germination is spread out over a number of weeks. Slow and erratic keep for two years. 20 seeds

	‘Award of Garden Merit’ (AGM) plant with soft blue colored flowers that are stripped with soft pinkish blue veins. A nice form of Geranium pretense with sky-blue colored, cup-shaped flowers with attractive veining. A little shorter growing than the normal forms of the species and later to bloom. It is less likely to need staking and will re-bloom if deadheaded or cut back heavily. Plants grow 2 to 3 feet tall and flower from late spring to late summer. Grow in sun to part shade in moisture retentive but well drained soils. A worthwhile novelty Geranium for growing in the perennial border or for the woodland garden. Plants sometimes self seed but not aggressively; seedlings mostly come true to type unless grown near other forms of the species. The seedlings need 2 years of growth before they large enough to flower well from seed, some blooming the second year. Long lived once established. Seeds are good sized and plants can be planted out after a month or two of growth. Grow in full sun or part shade in moist but well draining soils. Grows in heavy clay or chalky soils. 	'Meadow Crane's-bill' (jer-AYE-knee-um: prah-TEN-see) Clear violet-blue flowers over deeply cut leaves. Plants grow 2 feet tall. Large, saucer shaped flowers produced in spring. Some reblooming in late summer if the first set of flowering stems are cut back before seed is formed. The sturdy stalks do not need staking. 	'Bloody Cranes Bill' 10 to 24 inch wide clumps with nicely attractive foliage that is topped off with 1.5 inch round cup like flowers of bright rosy-purple coloration. This species forms slowly spreading clumps that develop into very attractive carpets of six to ten inch tall foliage with showy flowers interspersed just above the foliage. Long blooming from mid spring to mid summer. Great used as an edging or used intermixed with large rocks. Sow in moist medium and put in the fridge for four weeks. Germination in 3-100 days at F 65. I sow mine in a bag as above but leave the seed in my cold fridge (33-35F) until the seed starts to germinate: about two months, once seedlings have a root, I move them to a pot and keep them at F 55 for a few weeks until I have leaves. Plants will bloom in three months from germination and should be grown in full sun in well draining but moisture retentive soils, in a shady location the foliage can develop black spots and fall off the plant, but I must say that these seed raised plants look a lot better than the named cultivated clones on the market.
