Sow in plastic baggy with tablespoon of moist seed medium and keep at room temp for two weeks then place in fridge for 10 weeks. Sow and use 55f for germination. Or sow in pots/tray in the fall and keep outside in shealtered location for germination in the spring.

Reddish-violet colored flowers, leaves are often silver marked. Makes a nice ground cover in open shade to areas with half a day of shade. Under heavy shade they do not grow into thick clumps but spread-out to form long chains of stems. Self seeds often. Plants do not like hot muggy weather.

Zones 4-8. Sow in plastic baggy with tablespoon of moist seed medium and keep at room temp for two weeks then place in fridge for 10 weeks. Sow and use 55f for germination.

'Purple Deadnettle' or 'Purple Archangel' (la-mee-um) LAMIACEAE.

The leaves are often tinted with purple. Native from Europe. Plants grow to a height of 4-12 inches with Flowers that are 1/4 inch long. Flower color is lavender and flowering is from April to October. The flowers are shaped like a claw and have darker purple spots.

Sow in plastic baggy with table spoon of moist seed medium and keep at room temp for two weeks then place in fridge for 10 weeks. Sow and use F 55 for germination. Or sow in a pot with moist seed mix and put in a sheltered location out side in early fall for germination in the spring. Native from Europe, Asia and North Africa.
