'Devil's-tongue' or 'Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus'

Bright, 2 to 3 inch wide yellow flowers on low growing plants that grow 8 inches tall. Round flattened stems with a few segments, thorny with small short thorns. Plants grow on sand dunes and other sandy-rocky soils in Eastern North America. Flowering in June with fruiting in mid to late summer, the fruits turn bright red. Good bloomer, plants should be dry over the winter. Very hardy

'Engelman's Prickly Pear' or 'Desert Prickly Pear' or 'Brown Spined Prickly Pear' Cactaceae:

Red, yellow and Orange flowering plants produced from this seed. Spring blooming, plants can grow 3 to 4 feet tall and 3 or more feet wide. Nicly used for Desert settings and dry hillsides.

The species is native form Arizona, Utah, Texas. Hardy to 0 C (33F). There are about 150 species of Opuntia with many hydrids.
