The flowers are produced on long stems and have white and yellow markings on the lower lip. The foliage is a dark green and thick. Plants grow into thick clumps that blanket the ground over a 2 to 4 foot area. Plants flower from 24 to 40 inches tall and will start to bloom in mid spring and bloom until fall, some light deadheading will promote even heaver blooming later in the year. Use in Loamy, well-drained soil in some light open shade, with more shade in hot, very sunny climates. They will flower the first year from a spring sowing. Durable plants that once established will recover even after much neglect. Moderate seed production but not to a difficult degree.
