Home > Talinum
Talinum is a genus in Portulacaceae with around 50 species of annual or perennial plants that have succulent foliage. Most species are native from rocky and stony soils in North America, some are from South America, and some species are from Africa and Asia. The short lived flowers are showy, produced in upright terminal cymes or panicles.

'Fame Flower' or 'Rock Pink' Portulacaceae

Large, showy bright glowing pinkish red flowers on thin upright stems above succulent foliage. The flowers look like bright pink to reddish pink colored anemone flowers and the foliage looks like a cross between and ice plant and a hen and chick. Low growing with the foliage only a few inches tall and the flowers rising up 5 to 8 inches. Blooms from mid spring to mid-late summer, flowers are open during the hottest part of the day. Grow in full sun in rocky soils that are well draining, drought tolerant but best with moister but sharply draining soils.
