	These mat forming plants produce 12 inch tall some what lax stems with bright sky blue flowers. The many branched stems make a nice display over many weeks in summer. Starts off as a bushy upright perennial but then becomes a slowly spreading mat with small leaves thin wiry stems with many flowers. A nice bright blue color for a well draining location in full sun to light shade. Plants will bloom the first year. Zones 4-8. Cover seeds, use F 70, germination in 2-3 weeks. Plants grow fast. 	White flowers shaped like butterflies, hopefully with nice blue streaks. The other form of this species we have listed has solid white flowers with a tint of blue to them. 18 inches tall. Nice thick low growing foliage. Zones 3-8. 100 seeds.

	'Gentian Speedwell' Plants grow 18 inches tall and produce soft blue flowers in early summer. These plants have larger flowers than other Veronicas and each flower is said to look like a butterfly. Flowers are a very light blue, more an off white with a blue tint to them. The flowers are produced in terminal spikes, with multiple spikes per plant. Plants have large attractive basel leaves that are smooth and dark green with a glossy sheen - making them different from other Veronicas that have leaves with teeth. The basil leaves persist through the winter and form a nice green mat in the spring. The upright stems grow 18 inches tall and the flowers cover 4 to 10 inches of the stems. Easy to grow plants that bloom the second year in early summer. Creeping rootstocks form nice dense mats over a few years. Nice for the front of the boarder and rock garden. Use in full sun in well draining soils that stay moist, plants do not like really dry soils. Worthy of a place in the garden, even though not grown too often for some reason, maybe they are not yet that well know, not a stunningly showy plant from a distance but attractive and useful. Will bloom the second year but grow into nice clumps the first year. Zones (3)4-7. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best results at 70 F, if no germination in 4 weeks, move to the fridge for 4 weeks , then back to 70 F. 50 seeds.

	'Silver Speedwell' or 'Woolly Speedwell' SCROPHULARIACEAE: Very nicely silver-gray colored foliage with deep-violet/blue flowers. Plants grow one foot tall when in flower in mid summer with clumps of many stems about the same width. The foliage grows about six inches tall with six inch tall spikes of flowers blooming from mid June into late July. A showy display in the garden for well drained soils that are moisture retentive in full sun to morning shade. Soils should be on the rich side with a sandy organic soil working the best. Plants will flower the second year and will the first year form into a nice attractive clump. Zones (3)-4 to 7-(9) Avoid hot muggy weather for extended periods). The species is native to northern Asia including Russia. Germination in less than two weeks at 68ºF. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best results. 60 seeds.

	'Creeping Blue Speedwell' (veh-RON-ih-kuh: REE-penz) The shortest species offered here with plants only growing an inch or two tall and producing soft lilac, bluish-white flowers. Full sun to light shade in well drained soils but moisture retentive. They will not do well in hot, dry soils. The leaves are small and a dark green color with a shiny gloss. In late spring or early summer, the small star-shaped flowers are produced on short spikes that almost cover up the foliage. Nice plants used in the Alpine house and Rock Garden or as a groundcover. Blooms from early summer to frost, deadhead every few weeks to promote more flower production. Use in well-draining, gravely soils in full sun. Zones 3-8. The species is native from Europe and Central Asia. Seeds germinate very irregularly over a long period (1-7 weeks). Lower temperatures of less than +5°C (41°F) are very effective for breaking seed dormancy and initiating germination, once germination begins slowly move to 55-60 F for growth.
