[Dichelostemma capitatum ssp. capitatum] {Brodiaea pulchella} 'Bluedicks' or 'Wild Hyacinth' Liliaceae:
This perennial grows up to 30 inches tall and produces violet to purple flowers. The flowers are 1inch wide and clustered into terminal clusters. The Leaves are grass-like, growing to 15" long. Grows from an onion like, edible bulb. Blooms late winter and spring with flowering stems erect, slender and leafless. Grow in full sun in well-drained soil in sheltered areas. Plants bloom the secound or third year.

Native from the south western states of the USA, including AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR and UT, where it is found in plains and hillsides and on dry open ridges and grassy meadows to 1800 metres.
