'Arctic Poppy' (pah-PAY-ver: rad-ee-KAY-tum)

Plants grow 6 to 10 inches tall and have golden-yellow, cup shaped flowers. Small plants with a good number of flowers, bushy habit. Plants are covered in short, fine silver hairs. Leaves are pinnately lobed to simply divided. Grow in full sun in soils that are gravelly and lime-free. Blooms late spring. The seeds have a crescent shape to them. It's best to start the plants off in cell packs and transplant out into the ground as soon as they have a few leaves. Like most poppies, they resent having their roots damaged during transplanting.

Zones 3-8. Native to the Arctic and subarctic alpine regions of the northern Hemisphere. Surface sow seeds, light needed for best germination, use F. 75, germination starts in 5-15 days and is spread-out over a few weeks.

50 seeds.
