'Golden Clematis' or 'Old Man's Beard or 'Russian Virgin's Bower' Ranunculaceae:
Nodding yellow flowers cover this climber, after flowering is done the plants are covered in showy fluffy silver-white colored seed heads. Plants grow 8 to 12 feet tall and blooms late summer into late fall, flowering the first year. Older plants grow taller and do well growing on large structures and threw chain-linked fencing. Self seeds but seedings are easy to remove where not wanted. Nice in large pots. One of the easer Clematis species to grow from seed.

Native to western China and northern India. Germination in 20-30 days at 55 F. nights and 72 F. days. Darkness helps, so cover seeds completely when sowing. The seeds that do not germinate in response to the above regime, move to 35 F for three weeks.
