Aristolochiaceae:
Related to Asarum, plants with bright yellow flowers just above heart shaped leaves. The stems and leaves are hairy and plants bloom from spring till fall. This rare Aristolochia family member has plants that are upright growing reach 2 feet tall and grow into clumps about three feet wide. From early spring through late summer, the clumps are topped with .75 inch wide, bright buttery yellow flowers a worthy addition to a well-drained site in the woodland garden. Self-sown seedlings often appear.
