'Atlantic Coreopsis'

A tall erect growing plant with branched stems and three palmate leaves. Blooming from mid summer to late fall with 2' wide soft golden yellow that looks like glowing butter. Flowers turning brown or purplish. Forms clumps by rhizomes. ( stems that spread out under ground) Plants grow 4 to 8+ feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Native to Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. Plant in well drained soil in full sun or light shade. Deadhead to promote more flowering. This is a nice tall plant for the prairie garden with great foliage texture-at least in my opinion. A good tall plant that will keep on blooming in late summer into late fall. I like the soft appearance of this plant with the flowers mixed in atop the clumps, which can be very thick if grown well. Easily grown and long lived, grows well even in part shade. Effective used along the edge of the woods.

Zones 4-8.

50 seeds.
