Plants grow 18 to 24 inches tall with strong up-right growing stems, much like a Liatris, with dark, burgundy colored flowers. The foliage is thick and waxy coated with a blue-green color and a faint silver white coating. Good for cutting and an interest getter in the garden. Grow in moisture retentive soils in full sun to part shade, some what intolerant of dry soils under hot conditions.
