A heavy flowering 8 inch tall Alpine and Rock Garden plant with purple colored flowers. The flowers have pointy shaped petals with cup like ceneters. After flowering is done, interesting seed pods with long - pointy sepals cover the plants. Early and mid-summer blooming.
Zones 7-9. Other locations can often grow this plant as biannual with a summer sowing and overwintering outside to bloom the next year. The seeds is very small so surface sow the seeds and be very carefully watering, best to water from below until the seeds have germinated and the seedlings are well established.
