[Gazania cf. pectinata 'Tanager'] Also called 'Orange Peacock'
Bright, glowing orange colored daisies held 4 to 5 inches off the ground. Growsabout a foot or so wide. Plants start to bloom in spring and bloom to late autumn. Long thin leaves have a glossy sheen to them and are dark green in color. The leaves develop a deep purple tint to them in the winter months.
Zones 6-10. Reseeds moderately in zone 5. Can be grown as annual potting plants too. Germination starts in about two weeks at 60-68ºF, and is spread out over a few weeks.Cover seeds1/5inch deep-darkness helps with germination. If poor results in 4 weeks, move to 32-39F for 5 weeks then back to 65F.
