'Pagoda Penstemon' or 'Narrowleaf Penstemon' or 'Narrow Beard-tongue' or 'Pale-blue Beard-tongue' Scrophulariaceae:
This is a low growing species that normally grows around 12 inches tall, ranging from 6 to 15 inches tall upright growing with slender stems with many narrow leaves. Flowers are generally produce in dense spike-like clusters at the ends of the stems. Best used in groups of five plants spaced out about 10 inches apart. Showy true blue colored flowers that are trumpet shaped above long thin evergreen foliage. Grows best in full sun in nitrogen poor soil on the dry side. Flowering in May to July.

Native from Nebraska to North Dakota and Montana were it is found in dry soils. Start around 35-45F, after 5 weeks move to 55-65F,
germination is spread out over many weeks. Or sow in the fall and keep out side for germination in the spring and summer. Surface sow the seeds, light helps with germination.
