Here is a summer-blooming species that grows 14 to 18 inches (18 in = 45.7 cm) tall with many flowers with soft purple petals. The daisy like flowers have yellow center disks. The foliage is low growing and spread-out over the soil surface, and the flowers are held uprightly on tall stems with very much reduced leaves.
Native from middle elevations in the Rockies. Flowering July to September. Plants in the wild are found on Rocky slopes, meadows, openings, pine-fir, aspen-spruce; Native from Ariz., Colo., N.Mex., S.Dak., Utah.
