'Wintergreen' or Shineleaf' or 'Pyrola' Ericaeae:
Shade plants with entire, rounded leaves that law low to the ground and form open
spreading mats. Blooms in the spring with white flowers.
Zones 3-8. ?Use unsterilized
forest soil, surface sow the seeds and keep outside in open shaded location, protected from heavy
rains. Germination is erratic and spread-out over a few years. Like some terrestrial Orchids, these
seeds most likely need a soil fungus for germination and early growth so the seeds should be sown a non sterilized humisy organic soil, with threaded leaf-mold working best.
