Large, lavender blue colored flowers, a very outstanding tall stemmed flower that is great for cut flowers or in the boarder. Grows 20 inches tall. Long lived plants will bloom the second year. Grow in light sandy loam soils under dry, well-draining conditions with a neutral pH in full sun. Wet, poorly drained soils will cause root rot, especially over the winter. Best performance in areas with long cool summers were plants will bloom for much of the summer. Some what intolerant of high heat and humidity, were plants will bloom over a shorter period of time in late spring. Under long periods of high heat and humidity plants can 'give-up'. Zones 4-8. A choice selection. Germination: 60-70 F in 2 weeks. Needs light for good germination, so surface sow. 25 seeds.
