'Climbing Snapdragon' (ass-ar-EE-na: pro-KUM-benz)
Can also be found under the name Antirrhinum asarina. This fast growing trailing vine has trumpet shaped yellow flowers and evergreen gray-green leaves. Grows 2 inches tall and up to 25 inches long. An attractive plant with long creeping stems and soft yellow, snap dragon like flowers, produced all summer long. The small leaves are heart shaped with small-rounded teeth or lobes.
Native from the Pyrenees and is hardy in zones 6-9. Use in baskets, hanging planters and rock walls or trained on a trellis. The species name means something to the effect: 'Laying on the ground' Useful little plants trailing around rocks or paving stones.
Surface sow, light needed for best germination, 1-2 weeks at F65.
