Early blooming plants that grow only a few inches tall with a some what sprawling habit. The violet blue colored, cup shaped flowers are attractive in pots and troughs. Plants grow 4 to 6 inches tall and form little clumps of foliage covered with flowers. Plants have a tap root with spatulate shaped leaves that are 1.5 inches long. Blooms in April and May. Usein the rock garden or wall planted in a crevice in full sun to part shade.
Zones (4) 5-8. Native from mountains of Armenia to Iran.
