'Camas Lily' or 'Indian Hyacinth' or 'Black Camas' or 'Small Camas' (kuh-MAS-ee-uh: KWA-mash) Liliaceae:
Light blue colored flowers on tall stems, grows 20 to 36 inches tall. The flowers are star shaped with long, thin tepals. Blooms late spring and early summer- bulb forming species that is drought tolerant once established. After blooming and seed set, plants go summer dormant. Plants will bloom the second or third year after germination. Were happy this species will self seed.
Zones 4-8. Native from moist meadows and other open grassy locations west of the Rockies. Sow at 32-39ºF, germination spread-out, often over many months. Or sow in the fall for spring germination.
