Name means 'Growing on Mountains' This species grows 12 inches tall and has upright flowering stems with dark purple-blue to blue colored, bell shaped flowers. Plants slowly spread-out to form a mat by way of a creeping rootstock. Summer blooming. Plants grow best in fertile, well draining but moisture retentive soils in full sun to light shade. Early to mid summer blooming.
Zones 5-9. Native from the Caucasus mountains.
