'Bush Clematis' (klem-A-tis: in-teg-ri-FOL-ee-a)
This is a herbaceous clematis that grows up to 2 feet tall with a mix of plants that will have steel blue to rose-violet colored flowers over thick clumps with many stems. Summer blooming and with a trimming after blooming they will bloom heavy again in late summer-early fall. Prefers partial shade -- in more sun to full sun the soil should be moist. Plants are not upright growing but form mounds.
Zones 3-7. Native from Central Europe to central Western Asia. Sow seed into a plastic bag with moist seed mix and keep at 60-70ºF for 3 weeks, move to the fridge for 6 weeks, then move to F 50 were germination should occur. I have had a number of seeds germinate in two to three weeks in the plastic bag -- so check it occasionally and pluck the seedlings out and pot them up right away.
12 seeds.
