The correct name now is Pseudofumaria lutea 'Golden Bleeding Heart'
Plants grow 10 inches tall with 1' flowers that look like a yellow bleeding heart. freeze seed for 2 weeks before sowing. Once established plants will freely self sow around the garden. Plants have dense, bushy, almost woody evergreen stems with bluish green foliage. Use in areas with open shade, or as an under planting in full sun under tall plants like Peonies and Hemerocallis. An interesting plant that blooms all summer into fall and to frost. Probably the easiest of the 'Corydalis's' to grow (there are some species native from texas and other south western states that are weedy) click name for a picture(taken in October).
Zones 4-8. Sow in a plastic bag with moist seed mix and keep at 71ºF for 6 wks. Move to24-39ºF for 6-8 wks. Then raise the temperature to 50ºF. If no germination in 4-6 wks, repeat the cycle from the beginning. If the warm/cold cycles were not long enough, a new warm/cold cycle is needed. Germination in 21 days at 60 F.
