Plants grow one foot tall or so and may take on a lightly sprawling habit with many flowers produced from the ends of the stems. A valuable rock garden species for it's late summer flowering, which starts in late July and goes till mid September. Easily grown from seed. A good choice for poor soils that are well-drained. Plants often start blooming 6 to 8 weeks after sowing.
