'Deptford Pink' this native plant from Europe and West Asia is an Annual or biennial with Rosette forming, branching, hairy stems that are 15-23 inches tall. This selection has bright red/purple-pink flowers with lighter spots, they are small and located in flat terminal clusters. Blooming from July to September. best used in the Wildflower garden, dry meadows or naturalized in open grassy areas were they will self seed prolifically. Sun locations in Sandy, well drained soil. Germination takes 8-10 days. zones 3-8.
