'Showy Four O'clock' or 'Colorado Four O'clock' (mee-RAH-bi-lis: mul-TE-flora) Nyctaginaceae:
Plants grow 2 feet (2 ft = 61 cm) tall with a 4 feet (4 ft = 1.22 m) spread. Plants are tap rooted with blue-green tinted, leathery leaves. Purple colored, petunia-like flowers in summer. The flowers open in middle of the day and fade in the morning. A low water perennial.

Soak seeds in hot water for 2 days before sowing, plant out were you want them to grow right away -- they do not like root disturbance.
