Plants have long stems with bright yellow-gold colored flowers that have petals that are tapered to a needle like point. The large 3-inch wide flowers with very long tubular, ray petals, giving the flowers a starry effect. Best in moisture retentive soils in full sun, but will grow in some shade too. A nice spring blooming plants that is showy in full sun to part shade. Dislikes dry soil, were plants will go dormant prematurely. Some blooming the first year if started early, but generally blooming the second year.
